Linux GNOME: custom application window position

To run an application with specific window width/height and x/y position, use this example command:
gnome-terminal –geometry=70×10-0+400
This will do the following:
run application “gnome-terminal” with width=70, height=10, with margin-right=0 (if you would provide +0 then it would be counted as margin-left=0, same for margin-top) and margin-top=400
